About Teton County Library

Founded in 1983 and initially located in a log cabin American Legion Hall in downtown Jackson, Wyoming, the Teton County Library has evolved significantly to meet the growing demands of the Jackson Hole community. Its core mission is to connect individuals with various resources, learning opportunities, and each other, emphasizing the library’s crucial role in fostering community growth and adaptation in an ever-changing world. Teton County Library is distinguished as the first in Wyoming to become part of the national Place Libraries network. This affiliation underscores a commitment to early literacy, recognizing that the foundation for reading and learning is laid from birth.
