About FIRST Utah Robotics

FIRST stand for: For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.
Kids in Utah can enjoy different programs, according to what they are most interested in. These programs are divided into age group:

FIRST LEGO League is open to students in grades 2-8 and focuses on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Participants engage in hands-on STEM activities, gaining confidence, expanding their knowledge, and fostering a love for learning.

In the FIRST Tech Challenge, teams of up to 15 members in grades 7-12 work together to create, program, and operate robots for head-to-head competitions. Beyond building robots, teams raise funds, develop their team identity, and engage with their community to earn awards.

FIRST Robotics Competition for high school students is the ultimate Sport for the Mind!
Teams of students face strict rules, short timeframes, and limited resources as they work to secure funds, create a team identity, improve teamwork, and construct and program large robots. These robots then compete in a challenging field game against similar teams.
