BooLights is Salt Lake City’s destination for not-so-spooky friends, frights, and lights.

Families with kids will enjoy the zoo after dark with themed light displays and animalized Halloween entertainment and activities.

Get ready for two thrilling evenings of outdoor entertainment, minus the scares!

The agenda features a variety of engaging activities, such as embarking on an early evening walk called the “Crepuscular Creep” along the trails of Ogden Nature Center. During this walk, you’ll encounter Ogden Nature Center teacher-naturalists who have transformed into native Utah animals, each with a captivating story to share. You’ll also have the chance to meet live owls, spiders, and snakes, participate in games, crafts, and campfire storytelling, explore the Spider Web Crawl up close, encounter a mad scientist and a fortune teller, take a flashlight-guided “Squeak-n-Sneak Walk,” and much more!

During the October PNO, kids will conduct “boo-tacular” experiments that include racing ghost balloons, misty dry ice, and glowing pumpkin eruptions.

Each PNO includes approximately 2 hours of hands-on science plus dinner (pizza, juice pouches, and fresh veggies). This is a drop-off class; parents and children not enrolled are not permitted to attend.

During this event, kids will play games on the Play Patio (weather permitting) and find the characters throughout the museum.

They will also make a fun art project and then join a Treehouse Troupe production of “Ananse the Spider” in the Storybook Theater at 6:30 or 7:15 p.m. A gift bag will be provided for each child at the end of the event!

Make sure to pack your comfiest blanket or camping chair and dress in costume for a Halloween-themed light show on the EECO stage!

This event includes Aquarium Access from 6:30–8:30 PM, trick-or-treating, illuminated stomp lights, and food trucks on the plaza, ending with a musical light show at 9:00 PM.

Families can join the Latin American holiday Día de Muertos at Thanksgiving Point!

Members of the community are invited to build an altar (or ofrenda), inviting a loved one to enjoy the fragrance of marigolds and delicious pan de muerto (bread of the dead). A community ofrenda will be available at the event to write notes or share mementos in celebration of souls no longer on Earth.

Make sure you and your family seize the opportunity to enjoy a delightfully eerie and fun-packed Halloween day at The Leonardo!

You’ll find a range of engaging, interactive activities taking place throughout the museum all day long. These activities include crafting sticky slime and witnessing pumpkins that seem to “barf.” Be sure not to overlook the enigmatic performance by J & J Magic and the fascinating presentation by HawkWatch International! Plus, there’s a thrilling trick-or-treat scavenger hunt within the museum where you can collect treats. Halloween sheds new light on the Dinosaur Trail!

Visit Moab Giants after dark to walk through the shadows with the Giants, and brave the ferocious New Megalodon if you dare!
