The Best 2022 Halloween and Fall Events for Kids in & around Salt Lake City

If you want your memories to last a lifetime, then Fall is the perfect time for it! Pumpkin patches, trick-or-treating, Thanksgiving dinner… there are SO many things you can do as a family that makes life feel easier and happier.
With all these fun things to do for families, it can be hard to choose which one – but don’t worry, we’ve compiled a list of the most popular ones happening in the Salt Lake City area this year. Put away those jackets and get ready for some Autumnal adventures; check them out below:


Families will find exciting activities for the young and young at heart to enjoy during The Fall Festival at Gibson’s Green Acres!

 You can explore the huge corn maze, bounce around on the butter bounce jump pad, race your friends on the tractor trikes, or brave the haunted maze!

Halloween on the High Seas is a nighttime, outdoor event on the plaza, filled with fun for the whole family.

Stroll through the Seaside Carnival to enjoy games and festive treats and embark on your own adventure on the high seas. Get your wits about you, lads and lassies, because you’ll be needin’ all the courage you can muster!

Families can enjoy not-so-spooky Halloween and Fall Colors at Wheeler Historic Farm.

There will be a corn maze and play area, a wagon OR cow train ride, and a separate pumpkin patch where you pick and pay by size.

During Boo at the Zoo, you will find games and a fun scavenger hunt with prizes every weekend.

Check the calendar for details on the costume and pumpkin decorating contests. On the last Saturday of the month be sure to bring your goodie bags for our Trick-or-Treat around the zoo.

Ogden’s George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park will host a family flashlight dinosaur hunt to safely celebrate Halloween!

It is a must-see stop for families in Ogden during the month of October, and the only time of the year you can visit the Dinosaur Park in the dark—including periodic blackouts, so keep that flashlight handy!

Families will kick off the weekend with pumpkin-filled talks hosted by bird care staff followed by an abundance of fall-festive activities for your family throughout Tracy Aviary in Liberty Park.

During Creatures of the Night, families will enjoy Two nights of outdoor fun, without fright!

Get ready to enjoy a non-spooky Halloween adventure! The night is packed with trailside adventures!

There will be games, campfire stories, live owl and snake presentations, crafts, a spider web crawl, crepuscular creep, and costumes are welcome and flashlights are encouraged!

Celebrate Halloween with the whole family at Thanksgiving Point’s fifth annual Witch’s Breakfast!

Enjoy a delicious breakfast, activities, and spooky visitors. Make this breakfast a Halloween tradition that your family will treasure for years to come!

Something wicked this way comes, and you don’t want to miss out on this tea party Halloween spectacular!

Families can enjoy a mythical creatures reptile show, potions class, and spooky storytelling.

Fright Lights is sure to delight and amaze both young and old. Walk through an enchanted pathway of lights and music.

During this October PNO, participants will conduct “boo-tacular” experiments that include: racing ghost balloons, misty dry ice, and glowing pumpkin explosions.

Members of the community are invited to build an altar (or ofrenda) inviting a loved one to enjoy the fragrance of marigolds and delicious pan de Muerto (bread of the dead).

A community ofrenda will be available at the event to write notes or share mementos in celebration of souls no longer on Earth.

The St. George Children’s Museum is calling all Witches and Wizards to the annual event full of Wizard 101 science experiments, wand making, costume contests, magical treats, and more!

This year, ghosts and goblins can haunt the top floor of the Museum with even more spooktacular activities including a monster-mash-dance party.
