About Museum of Work & Culture

The Museum of Work & Culture offers a deep dive into the immigrant experience in mill towns along the Blackstone River, focusing on the journey from Quebec to Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Visitors, including families with children, can step back in time to explore nine immersive exhibits showcasing life at home, work, and school around the turn of the century. The museum provides an educational experience with free virtual tours for groups such as schools and homeschoolers. Highlights include a 1930s Triple Decker house parlor, an interactive textile city history table, the Rhode Island Merci Boxcar story, and local products like blankets from Woonsocket’s last textile mill.
