About Lippitt House Museum

Lippitt House is Providence’s premiere Victorian house museum. It was built in 1865, and it captures the brilliance of Victorian design and represents a time in Providence’s industrial history.

One of America’s best-preserved Victorian interiors, tours go through elaborate rooms exploring how Providence’s history shaped today’s RI. The staff shares stories focusing on the people who lived and worked in the house illustrating Providence’s heritage.
Preserve Rhode Island’s 1865 Lippitt House Museum offers guided tours by online reservation, special exhibitions, lectures, art installations, concerts, and family programs. A National Historic Landmark, Lippitt House has one of the best preserved Victorian interiors in America, allowing visitors to step into Providence’s Golden Age.
