About Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve

Visit the largest concentration of Native American petroglyphs in the Phoenix Valley!
You will walk a quarter-mile in a nature preserve and see over 1,500 petroglyphs created between 500 and 7,000 years ago. The Deer Valley Preserve promotes the preservation of archaeological sites and desert environments through public engagement.
Escape the city and admire prehistoric petroglyphs, native desert plants, and animals in their natural habitat.
Arizona State University has protected and preserved the site sine 1994. You can explore and learn more about the site and indigenous cultures through guided tours, publications, and on-going lectures series.
