The holiday season is just around the corner and the Denver Metro is ready to start celebrating! Tree Lighting Events are the perfect way to kick off the holiday season with sparkling lights, music, treats and visits from Santa. From Loveland to Pueblo and everywhere in between, here are some of the best and brightest Tree Lighting Events for your family to enjoy.

Olde Town Arvada is the perfect setting to enjoy the start to the holiday season. Enjoy free hot chocolate, stroll the shops and listen to Christmas carols as you enjoy the magic of the season. You can even check out the night sky from a telescope provided by Majestic View Nature Center/Jeffco Open Space.

Southlands Mall is hosting another wonderful event to kick off the holiday shopping season. Watch as floats, entertainers, musicians and even Santa make their way down Main Street as they head towards the square to illuminate the big tree.

Bring your family out for a full day of fun in Breckenridge. The day will offer something for everyone from a Snowman Building Competition to a free concert. Everyone in your crew will have the chance to move with the Holiday Dog Parade, Kids Moose March and the Race of the Santas. Santa will light up the Town Tree at 5:00pm before heading to the Barney Ford Museum to visit with children and snap adorable photos. End the night with live music feature Hazel Miller.

Union Station is an iconic Denver landmark. Bring the whole family to watch as this historic building and towering 40-foot tree are illuminated for the holiday season. Enjoy the live music from area groups and a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Sculpture Park is home to the Mile High Tree which is brand new and free to the public. Watch as this spectacular tree comes to life for the first time. Light and Music shows will occur every 30 minutes featuring music from holidays around the world.

Highlands Ranch is your destination for old fashioned holiday fun this year. The Big Tree lights up at 5:00pm and there will be caroling throughout the night. Get some names checked off your shopping list with unique and locally made gift items at the Winter Market. Children will have a chance to talk to Santa and take a photo.

Head up to Keystone Ski Resort’s 7th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration. The event will kick off with a parade followed by Carolers in the Village. You can enjoy hot cocoa and cookies while you visit with Santa. Stick around until 7:00pm to see the tree light up followed by fireworks!

Lakewood Lights at the Lakewood Heritage Center is an annual holiday event sure to please everyone in the family. You can stroll through magical light displays or catch a ride on the hay wagon. Your kids can enjoy crafts and learning about holiday traditions from around the world. Stop by Santa’s workshop for your free photo with Santa. The Mayor will be lighting the Tree at 5:45pm so be sure not to miss it!

Grab a spot on Main Street in Littleton and prepare to be amazed as Santa and his sleigh light over one million lights as he passes each block. Santa will finish his ride by lighting the big Christmas Tree in the Plaza before heading to the Town Hall Arts Center for visit with all the children on his list and pose for a free picture. There will also be live reindeer, music and shopping along Main Street.

Lone Tree is getting the holidays started with this fun family event. The Mayor and City Council will light up the tree at 6:30pm. There will be treats at the hot cocoa bar and firepits where you can roast your own s’mores. Little ones and their parents will love listening to stories, creating crafts, singing carols, decorating cookies and making their very own ornament. Santa and his reindeer will be making an appearance so pack your cameras!

Don’t miss Downtown Loveland’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Festival of Lights. Santa will start off the night by switching the lights on the 25 foot tree in front of the Rialto Theater. There are so many things to love from live music, dancing, shopping, carriage rides and kids’ art activities. Food vendors and a Beer Garden for the adults are also available.

Countdown with the Mayor and the Parker Chorale as they prepare to light the Town Tree and O’Brien Park. After you can enjoy, choir and dance performances in the Gazebo. Stroll the illuminated O’Brien Park and check out the ice sculptures, holiday characters and holiday food vendors.

Don’t miss this special event at the Pueblo Zoo. ElectiCritters features 250,000 lights and over 150 sculptures. In addition to the lights, there will be holiday crafts for the kids, hot chocolate, candy canes and you even visit Santa and his North Pole friends.

You don’t want to miss Stapleton’s 29th Ave Town Center’s Winter Welcome. There will be booths from a variety of holiday vendors selling delicious treats all along 29th Ave. There will be Christmas Carolers, Dancing Trees and fun for all. Horse Drawn Carriage rides and other activities will be available for an additional fee.

Thornton WinterFest is a weekend packed with activities to celebrate the holidays. Starting with the Mayor and City Council turning on the Tree and the Village holiday lights at 6:30pm on Friday, December 13 and the fun lasts through Sunday, December 15. Enjoy visits with Santa, ice carving, live performances and more. Don’t forget to come back Saturday morning for Breakfast with Santa, the Holiday Marketplace and the WinterFest 5K!

Westminster City Hall is the site of the Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony. Enjoy the lights, live holiday music and entertainment and carnival games. Snap a selfie in a full-sized sleigh or grab a precious picture of your little one in the kid-sized train. Santa will be there to listen to Christmas wishes and take photos too!
