With the holidays in full swing, Colorado is getting ready for a variety of amazing & festive parades taking place throughout the state! What better way to spend an evening than getting bundled up, grabbing some hot chocolate, and getting in the holiday spirit with the family while watching amazing floats & marchers stroll downtown? Check out this list of 10 great parades coming to our state.

If you’re looking for the most spectacular and popular parade in all of Colorado, look no further than the annual 9News Parade of Lights in Downtown Denver. This two-mile extravaganza features an array of amazing floats, giant balloon characters, marching bands, and of course an unbelievable amount of holiday lights. This parade lasts about an hour and is free to the public.
Where: Downtown Littleton
When: Friday, Nov 29th @ 4 PM – 10 PM
Join the town of LIttleton in welcoming Santa’s arrival as he parades down Main Street, magically lighting the town as he strolls along. You can follow Santa with a candle in your hand, available for purchase for only 50 cents. At this parade you will also find choirs, bands, holiday floats, reindeer, and so much more!

Every holiday season the beautiful & historic town of Golden comes alive with Christmas spirit. The town features a variety of events and festivities all throughout December, including three amazing parades taking place on the first three Saturdays of the month. You can see a variety of floats, holiday characters, fire trucks and more parade downtown starting at 11 am. Don’t miss a special appearance from Santa himself!

2019 marks the 30th anniversary of the annual Pueblo Parade of LIghts! Every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Downtown Pueblo becomes the place to be for holiday cheer. This is one of the largest holiday parades in all of Colorado, featuring a variety of floats, marching teams, bands, horses and festive cars decked in holiday lights. The 2019 theme is “Christmas at the Movies”, so prepare to see lots of familiar themes from holiday cinema classics.

The town of Boulder loves to celebrate the holiday season with a variety of festive events in town, and one of the most beloved is the Lights of December Parade taking place on the Pearl Street Mall. Spectators can enjoy seeing lots of amazing floats rolling along decorated by local businesses, schools, churches and civic groups. Don’t miss the grand finale as Mr. & Mrs. Clause arrive for a special visit! The parade starts at 15th & Walnut streets.

The annual Holiday Parade of Lights in the town of Lyons is a spectacular event that is beloved by locals and visited by Coloradan’s from all over the state. Here you will find an amazing parade, music, lights, and a stunning fireworks show to cap things off! The theme of this year is “winter wonderland”, make sure to arrive early for a good spot! The parade starts at 6:30, routing down Main St. and back along Broadway.

Take a trip to Parker to see a unique and fun parade that draws people (and horses) from all over Colorado! At the annual Christmas Carriage Parade, horses are the main attraction. See carriages, wagons, surreys and stagecoaches all decked out with holiday gear being pulled by the horses through downtown. This parade also features a holiday market as well as photo ops, a petting zoo, santa visits, ice skating and more!

For the seventh year running, the Holiday Lantern Walk has become a favorite tradition at Vail resort. Complimentary LED lights and hot chocolate are served to attendees who gather in the square before a short walk through Vail Village. You’ll truly feel like you are walking through the streets of a European alpine village lit by candlelight in this fun & participatory event.

Returning for it’s 35th year, the annual Festival of Lights Parade in Colorado Springs is one of the most visited parades in Colorado! At this parade you will find lots of amazing floats that are decorated in festive themes and decked with holiday lights. The parade starts at St. Vrain St. and then head south to Vermijo Ave.

The CSU Marching Band is always a favorite at the annual 9News Parade of Lights in Denver, and you can preview their performance in Fort Collins on Friday, December 6th. Head to the heart of the CSU campus at 6 PM to see the school band march along. This is a free vent and open to the public for all to enjoy.
